Op dinsdag 19 november organiseert De Rode Antraciet vzw een internationaal symposium over participatie in Europese gevangenissen. De studiedag is het slotstuk van het tweejarig onderzoeksproject ‘Prisoners’ Active Citizenship (PAC)’. Via praktijken in Europese gevangenissen ontwikkelden de partners van dit project een gezamenlijke visie en nieuwe tools om aan de slag te gaan met participatie en actief burgerschap van gedetineerden. Met een gevarieerd programma van lezingen, workshops en een panelgesprek geeft het symposium een complete inkijk in het traject, de actuele resultaten en mogelijke pistes voor de toekomst.

Symposium ‘Participation in European prisons’ | November 19, 2019 – Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region 

On Tuesday 19 November, De Rode Antraciet vzw will host an international symposium on participation in European prisons. The symposium is the apotheosis of the two-year research project ‘Prisoners’ Active Citizenship (PAC)’. Through practices in European prisons, the partners of the project developed a common vision and new tools to really get going with participation and active citizenship of prisoners.  With a varied programme of lectures, workshops and a panel discussion, the symposium offers a complete view of the research, current results and possible future applications.

Working language
The working language of the symposium is Dutch, except for the workshops and the keynote. There will be simultaneous translation into English during the course of the day.
